Our Beginings

Many events have taken place since CSET opened its doors in 1976. What began as a small group of volunteers, determined to create greater opportunities for youth in need, is now an organization with close to 300 employees with offices across Tulare County and surrounding communities. CSET later expanded its role to serve as the Community Action Agency for our community in 1984.

CSET has served the children, seniors, and people of Tulare County, California. A diverse region, covering nearly 5,000 square miles, Tulare County is located in the agricultural heart of California, providing fruit, vegetables, nuts, dairy, and beef that feeds the rest of the country and much of the world. Despite a booming agriculture industry, the persistent problems of poverty remain.

COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP

CSET is a proud member of the National Community Action Partnership. The nation’s Community Action network – including 1,000 plus Community Action Agencies – are a robust, national, state, and local force, reaching children and families in 99% of America’s counties with life changing services that create pathways to opportunity and prosperity.
