Corps Programs
The Sequoia Community Corps (SCC) offers vocational training in the trades of weatherization, urban forestry, conservation education, and recycling, including the recycling of CRV beverage containers, e-waste, used oil, and waste tires. SCC has successfully operated in Tulare and Kings Counties for the past three decades, providing more than 4,000 young adults with valuable job training and educational opportunities.
In addition to the services offered to young adults, the SCC also assists local governments, agencies, and businesses in meeting critical community needs such as park development, recycling services, and natural resource conservation in local recreation areas.

With funding from CalRecycle, the SCC has built an infrastructure that promotes and provides convenient recycling of beverage containers, electronic waste and used oil throughout Tulare and Kings Counties including the surrounding mountain areas of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

With specialized training for jobs in the green industry, corpsmembsrs erve their communities while improving their own prospects for a better life.

Corpsmembers can prepare for valuable jobs in the construction industry through multiple projects. Corpsmembers gain hands-on work experience through various Public Works projects that beautify our communities and improve their future job prospects.

Corpsmembers engage in environmental stewardship through conservation projects and learn essential career skills while developing a passion for the communities they serve. Partnerships with local municipalities have led to an average planting of 500-1000 trees per year.

This is a paid transitional employment opportunity for corpsmembers to develop work history, employment soft skills, paid job training, and much more. Veterans have priority enrollment.

The City of Porterville’s (COP) Clean CA Crew will help address the city's environmental needs by engaging in litter abatement projects throughout Porterville's highways, including the Mighty 190. Through our local partners' participants will participate in Job Readiness workshops where participants learn about the job interview process, build a résumé, develop budgeting techniques to balance personal finances, and much more.

The Environmental Cleanup Opportunities (ECO) Project is a transitional jobs program that assists individuals experiencing homelessness in Visalia gain job readiness skills and work experience, with the goal of obtaining stable employment and housing.
