The Sequoia Community Corps (SCC ) prides itself on providing valuable hands-on training to its participants they can use in future employment opportunities. One of these skillsets is laying quality concrete that is up to regulation. For instance, in the photo above you can see the fresh slabs of concrete with control joints placed every 10 feet. These control joints force the concrete to crack along a predetermined line to relieve stress as the concrete cures. They also prevent random cracking along with the concrete slabs as they are used over time. This is just a small snapshot of the valuable industry knowledge and experience that the SCC provides its corpsmembers.
